The separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank, constructed these very days, raises a number of controversial issues, which have clear international law aspects. These issues have already become the subject of proceedings before the Israeli Supreme Court, numerous UN resolutions and a request for advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice. Concord follows closely developments in both sets of proceedings as well as at the political sphere, within Israel and outside it. We believe the case amply demonstrates the potential influence of international law over the decision-making process in and outside Israel, and signifies the increased interaction between Israeli and international law.
